Good morning! It's Monday morning, 5am! The sun is readying itself to shine here in Pike Road Alabama. I have my coffee, pen in hand, in my pajamas ready to attempt my first blog with Cuppie, my Teacup Australian Shepherd sleeping by my side for support.
First, I'd like to say "thanks" to my son in law, Matt Dean, for designing a long overdue website for
Design For Living. Matt, April and five kids live in China where Matt teaches English. Presently they are all asleep here with us in every available room and closet. The website will help people
locate our offices and services quickly. I t's simple and user friendly. Thanks Matt!
Secondly, I want to confess I'm not a seasoned "blogger". I'm 68, and old school, but I would like to stay connected with you at least once a month. Topics will be practical, such as fatherhood, marriage, counseling, pastoring, growing roses, lessons from the tennis courts, and principles I've
picked up from others along the way. You may have topics and questions you would like me to address. I will also have guest bloggers.
Thirdly, some of you are aware that Design For Living is a 501c3 non-profit ministry. I raise my
personal salary much like a missionary. When we started DFL over 30 years ago the Lord impressed on me "... to remember the poor" the same as the church at Jeruselem reminded the Apostle Paul to do. We have never turned anyone away due to their finances. We have honored that, and God has honored us. With the website our friends can give online. Click "About" on the home page and check it out. it's simple, it's easy and I like that.
Finally, would you take a moment right now and offer a prayer for me and Sue and this ministry, Design For Living? I need His wisdom to offer hope, truth and light to my struggling brothers and sisters in Christ. We all have struggled or have been stuck in life at one time or another. It's not a fun place to be. Pray for us; a counseling office can be a beautiful place where grace and mercy come together to heal. Thanks for your prayer.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
